I’ve been an automotive technician since 2008 — seventeen years turning wrenches, diagnosing the impossible, and working inside systems that were outdated before I even started my career. I came up in an industry where the work got harder every year, but the tools and workflows never evolved to match the increasing complexity of modern vehicles.
Over nearly two decades in the bays, I’ve seen everything:
The burnout.
The overwhelming workloads.
The long nights spent chasing wiring faults with no support.
The endless logins, outdated software, and broken internal tools that were supposed to “make things easier” but actually slowed us down.
And I watched shop after shop try new “solutions” — new systems, new portals, new processes — all of which failed for the same reason:
None of them were built by someone who actually works in the trenches.
Then 2020 hit, and everything changed.
COVID didn’t just disrupt dealerships — it gutted the technician knowledge base.
Master techs retired early. Others switched industries. Some never came back. The mentorship pipeline that built our trade for decades vanished almost overnight.
The gap between experienced technicians and new techs widened faster than I’ve ever seen. And no tool, no system, no OEM program stepped in to preserve that knowledge.
For the first time, I realized something:
If we didn’t find a way to capture and protect technician knowledge, we were going to lose it forever.
That’s why I built Tech Ai-Copilot.
Not as another generic AI bot.
Not as another shop tool that collects dust.
Not as a shortcut or cheat code.
But as a way to augment technicians, protect their expertise, and give every tech — from apprentice to master — something our industry has never truly had:
A safe, intelligent assistant that understands real workflows, real patterns, and real technician language.
A tool built from the industry, not imposed on it.
A tool that grows alongside us, helps lighten the workload, and reduces burnout instead of adding to it.
This is my attempt to give back to the trade that has shaped my entire life.
To preserve the knowledge we’re losing.
To help the next generation feel supported instead of overwhelmed.
And to build something that finally evolves with the modern technician instead of holding us back.
I’m not a Silicon Valley founder.
I’m a Senior Master tech who got tired of waiting for someone else to fix a problem I’ve lived with for 17 years.
So I built the tool I always wished existed — for myself, for my coworkers, and for every technician out there who deserves better.
Tech Ai-Copilot isn’t a shortcut.
It’s a lifeline for a trade that desperately needs modern support.
And this is only the beginning.
